The Astrology of Donald Trump’s Presidency

Donald Trump was inaugurated as the 47th president of the United States on January 20th, 2025 at 12:01 p.m. EST, in Washington D.C. Because we know the exact time of his inauguration, a chart can be cast for his presidency. This chart will provide insight into how his presidency will unfold and what the presidency will be known for. In this post, I’ll be going over both the presidency’s chart and Donald Trump’s own natal chart/predictive astrology.

The chart above is the chart that was cast at the time of Trump’s inauguration. It’s a Taurus rising chart with Uranus in the 1st house, Venus (chart ruler) in the 11th house, and Sun conjunct Pluto in the 10th house. The Midheaven (MC) is in Capricorn, in the 9th house. Mars retrograde in Cancer is close to the IC, opposite the MC. Venus is enclosed or between Saturn and Neptune in Pisces. There are many notable placements and aspects in this chart, including several that align with what was expected out of the 2nd Trump presidency. Going into his inauguration, his priorities going into this presidency were very clear and many of them you can see in the chart itself.

Beginning with this chart having a Taurus rising with Uranus in the 1st house, this indicates that his presidency will be fixed in its ways. Taurus as a sign is known for being stubborn and determined; because his presidency has a fixed sign as its rising sign, we know that it will be hard to sway their priorities. They have goals that they will take time to work towards. Uranus being in the 1st house brings overall unpredictability to his presidency. Uranus brings sudden changes and because it’s in the 1st house, sudden change and unpredictability play more of a major part in his presidency.

The planetary ruler of the ascendant is called the chart ruler. The planet that rules the ascendant/is the chart ruler holds more importance in the birth chart. With a Taurus rising chart, Venus is the chart ruler because Venus rules Taurus, so Venus holds more significance in this chart. Venus is in Pisces in the 11th house and is enclosed, or in between Neptune and Saturn. Venus is typically comfortable and productive in Pisces; Venus flourishes in the empathetic and understanding environment that Pisces provides. Because Venus is enclosed between Neptune and Saturn though, the ease that Venus feels in Pisces is lessened. Venus is struggling in this chart because Saturn is restricting it and Neptune brings delusion, confusion, and lies in the worst scenarios. Both Saturn and Neptune are heavily influencing Venus, the chart ruler. Venus will also be stationing retrograde in the next couple of months, highlighting this Venus placement even more. With their chart ruler Venus in the 11th house, a main focus of theirs is influencing the masses. The 11th house represents groups, communities, influence, and hopes/dreams. This house’s topics are a main priority for his administration.

The Moon is in Libra in the 6th house. The Moon is active in this chart due to several aspects that it’s making. With the Moon in the 6th house, their dedication is heightened. The house that the Moon is placed in, like the chart ruler, can show where their priorities are. The topics of the house hold more importance to them. This presidency is focused on hard work, structure, labor, and health. On the 1st day of his presidency, he signed executive orders requiring federal employees to go back to the office, and days later, he repealed the Equal Employment Opportunity Act, which will impact millions of workers in the United States. I also have to mention that the 6th house is representative of subordinates and sacrifice. All of these 6th house topics are heightened during his presidency, and we are already seeing this play out in several of his executive orders.

Both the Midheaven (MC) and Mercury are in Capricorn in the 9th house. The MC represents the reputation of the presidency and what it will be known for. It is also representative of the major aspirations for the presidency. With the MC in the 9th house, those house topics will be integrated into their major goals and reputation. The 9th house represents foreign places and people, the law, courts, religion, philosophy, and trade. The Trump administration has made it clear that they are focused on these topics already, specifically people from other countries and religions. Because the MC is in Capricorn, they strive for more structure and authority. Capricorn as a sign is determined and it thinks of the long-term impacts of what it’s doing. That being said, this aligns with the goals of his presidency and many conservatives; they want to change the country in a way that will last for years to come.

Mercury is in Capricorn in this chart which indicates that they aim to communicate bluntly and logically - even if it’s only logical in their eyes. They don’t understand emotional or empathetic thinking. Mercury in Capricorn indicates that they are thinking about the long-term. They want to create change in this country that lasts a long time and many people have said this before his presidency began. For example, he wants to choose 1-2 more conservative Supreme Court justices who will have lifetime appointments, making our Supreme Court even more conservatively biased for years to come. Mercury is in the 9th house, which is the house that deals with the laws, courts, and world philosophies. The 9th house represents foreign people and places as well. With Mercury here, their thinking is heavily tied to 9th house topics. This has already manifested in several ways. A major focus of Trump's is to get “illegal” and legal immigrants out of the United States. His administration is attacking DACA and Dreamers, as well as any ideology that doesn’t align with theirs. Trump claims to want more law & order, a major 9th house topic, even though he has begun pardoning many people who assaulted the police and other citizens on January 6th, 2021, and has gotten away with committing crimes himself.

Something interesting that I noticed is that Mercury is the ruler of the 5th house in this chart, seen above. The 5th house represents children and sex. This chart’s 5th house is in Virgo, which is ruled by the planet Mercury. Mercury is placed in the 9th house of the law and courts. This makes it even more clear that a defining aspect of this presidency will be making laws regarding reproductive rights. The 5th house and 9th house in this chart are integrated.

Mars in this chart is in Cancer and retrograde. Mars represents anger, confrontation, aggression, drive, motivation, energy, and violence. Mars doesn’t love being in Cancer because Cancer traits don’t align with what Mars represents. Mars is struggling in this chart, but that doesn’t mean that they aren’t able to tap into their Mars. Because their Mars is struggling, they can use it in unproductive ways. They will be more impulsive and emotionally driven. They won’t know how to use their motivation or drive in productive ways. Mars is currently retrograde, but it will station direct in February and make its way back to the exact same degree as this chart’s Mars - their first Mars return will occur on April 3rd, 2025. The presidency’s Mars placement will be very noticeable on this day. I won’t make any predictions in this post as to what will happen, but if Trump’s predictive astrology is also active that day, violence is more likely to unfold at the hands of his administration.

The Aspects

The most telling aspect in this chart, in my opinion, is the Sun conjunct Pluto aspect, which can be found in the 10th house in Aquarius. Because it’s in an angular house (1H, 4H, 7H, 10H), the aspect is more impactful and noticeable in the presidency. Pluto represents power, power struggles, rebirth, destruction, and regeneration. Pluto brings depth and power to the planets that it aspects. Pluto makes situations more extreme. With Pluto conjunct the Sun, which is representative of the presidency itself, power is a major concern for them. They want to gain more power and influence with this presidency. They now have the power to begin destroying years of growth that the United States has made in addressing the country’s terrible past. He’s signed executive orders getting rid of DEI (diversity equity and inclusion) and there is always the possibility that he could give himself even more power through executive orders or laws. With the Sun conjunct Pluto, the Trump administration craves authority and power most. Although the MC is in Capricorn in the 9th house, it’s at the very late degrees of the sign. It’s making an applying conjunction to this Sun - Pluto conjunction, that’s at the beginning degrees of Aquarius. This makes the Sun - Pluto aspect’s energy a major part of the reputation of this presidency.

The Moon is making an exact square to Mercury, an exact opposition to Chiron, and an applying square to Mars. With the Moon making an exact square to Mercury, Mercury topics (and the house that Mercury is in) are influencing the Moon and its house. Moon square Mercury causes people to question their thinking. This aspect brings more stress, frustration, and tension to his administration. It also heightens the amount of passion that comes from his presidency, but it’s already known that he and his supporters are passionate about their beliefs.

The Moon is exactly opposite Chiron. Chiron in astrology is the wounded healer, and in a personal birth chart, Chiron can indicate your wounds and how to heal them. Chiron opposite the Moon in a presidency’s chart can indicate that they reject emotion. Because Mercury is in Capricorn, this is even more likely. With the Moon opposite Chiron and Mercury in Capricorn, they don’t care that people are emotional or will be personally impacted by their executive orders and beliefs. They reject feelings, empathy, and cooperation. I need to mention that Hitler had the Moon opposite Chiron in his birth chart, just because.

The Moon is making an applying square to Mars. Like Chiron opposite the Moon, this aspect is indicative of the presidency rejecting people’s feelings and well-being in general. This aspect makes someone's drive for what they want even more passionate. Mars is a major part of what gets you up every day and your motivations. But Mars also represents anger, violence, and conflict. This aspect makes the presidency more assertive and impulsive.

The last aspect I want to touch on is Mars opposite Mercury. Mars, the planet of aggression and confrontation, is aspecting Mercury, the planet of communication and thinking. This aspect is familiar to Trump, as he has Mars conjunct his Ascendant. The Ascendant represents personality and first impressions. He is the epitome of someone who embodies Mars in unproductive ways. With Mars opposite Mercury, his presidency will be known for communicating and thinking in violent or aggressive ways. They are triggered more easily and are more impulsive.

In my next post, I will be going over Trump’s natal chart/the predictive astrology that is unfolding for him. His predictive astrology, along with others like J.D. Vance’s, can give us insight into when things might occur. Trump has some major predictive astrology unfolding personally, so there is plenty to go over. Thank you so much for your support. I’m sending love to everyone during these scary times. We will get through this together!
