Saturn's Transit through Aries

Saturn in Aries dates: May 24 - September 1, 2025, February 13, 2026 - April 12, 2028

Transit Saturn will enter Aries for several months this year, giving you insight into what will unfold from 2026-2028 when it fully enters the sign - Saturn spends about 2.5 years in each sign. Saturn is the planet of restriction, timelines, responsibility, and accountability. It is entering Aries, the youngest sign of the zodiac; Aries is known to be impulsive and impatient, unlike Saturn. These two conflicting energies will be working together for the next couple of years.

Saturn hasn’t been in Aries for 28 years. The last time it was in Aries was from April 7th, 1996 until June 9th, 1998. Saturn entering the youngest sign of the zodiac will mark a period of bringing more structure to your long-term goals. Saturn entering Aries will make people take accountability for past impulsive or aggressive actions. Saturn will bring order and accountability to situations or people avoiding them.

Saturn is in its fall in Aries, meaning it doesn’t feel very comfortable in the sign. Saturn can feel less productive or weakened when it is in Aries. This is due to them having opposite goals and understandings. Although they aren’t aligned energetically, they can be used to each other's advantage. Saturn and Aries will be influencing each other simultaneously; being in Aries, Saturn will work quicker, and Saturn will make Aries think more about their actions. Characteristics that Saturn lacks, such as impulsiveness and spontaneity, can be enhanced with Saturn being in Aries.

Saturn in Aries in Your Personal Life

Saturn will bring maturation to Aries and the Aries house in your chart. The Aries house in your chart may struggle with long-term projects and following through; this is due to Aries being a cardinal, fire sign and it also is the youngest sign. Saturn's ingress into Aries will make it easier for you to work on something long-term. Discipline is heightened, as well as productivity regarding your Aries house topics. Saturn will bring seriousness to your Aries house that hasn’t been there previously. You will be more responsible for your Aries house topics, such as having more responsibility at work (Saturn in the 6th or 10th house). Regiments and routines may not be as hard to begin, depending on where Saturn is transiting your chart.

Saturn in Aries will make individuals come to sober realizations regarding their Aries house topics. For example, if Saturn is entering your 7th house of relationships, something could be brought to your awareness that changes your relationship(s), love, or friendship. Some of you will be confronted with undesirable truths. Others will find that they begin thinking about the long-term consequences of what they’re currently doing. Saturn will aid you in recognizing where you need to hold yourself and others accountable.

Saturn in Aries in Society/The World

Saturn is associated with restrictions and limitations, and Aries typically fights back against being constrained. Aries' ruler, Mars, can represent things like the military and violence. Saturn will likely strengthen military operations. Simultaneously, the military could encounter limitations with Saturn in Aries. Looking back at past events that occurred during Saturn’s past stays in Aries, we can get a better understanding of what could unfold in the upcoming months and years that Saturn will be in the sign:

April - October 1937, January 1938 - July 1939

  • April 1, 1939: The Spanish Civil War ends.

March 1967 - April 1969

  • Summer of 1967: The “Long-Hot Summer” - a period of unrest, race riots, and civil rights protests in the United States and in other places around the world.

  • March 20, 1968: U.S. President Lyndon B. Johnson signs a bill removing gold backing from U.S. paper money.

  • October 6, 1996: Australia begins its firearm buyback program/National Firearms Amnesty (NFA) in response to the Port Arthur Massacre. Over 650,000 firearms were surrendered.

  • March 1997: Heaven’s Gate Suicide occurs; all 39 members participated in ritual suicides.

  • August 31, 1997: Princess Diana is killed in a car accident.

  • January 1998: The Bill Clinton/Monica Lewinsky Scandal is publicized. Testifying begins.

  • March 24, 1998: The Jonesboro Massacre occurs - a mass shooting at a middle school in Arkansas.

  • May 4, 1998: Unabomber Ted Kaczynski is given 4 life sentences by a federal judge, plus another 30 years after.

  • May 26, 1998: The Paula Jones sex harassment trial begins against US President Bill Clinton.

  • June 5, 1998: The UAW GM Flint Strike begins. It lasts for 54 days.

I expect that there will be continued pushback from citizens of many countries towards their government(s) while Saturn is in Aries, as well as more surveillance on individuals. Looking back at what occurred the past three times Saturn was in Aries, there were many protests, riots, and general pushback against peoples’ governments. Individuals were fighting for civil rights and against wars. The state of the world seems to be on a similar trajectory currently, and I could see record-breaking protests unfolding while Saturn is in Aries. This is even more likely because Pluto is in Aquarius, a sign that values society's overall wellness.

Transit Mars can amplify and activate a planet’s energy. This means that we can check when Mars will be making a hard aspect to Saturn to see when Saturn in Aries’ energy will be amplified, for better or worse. The dates below show when Saturn and Mars are making a hard aspect to each other, or when Saturn is being triggered by Mars. Violence is heightened during these times, especially since Saturn in Aries’ ruler is Mars.

Saturn in Aries will bring more responsibility or accountability to people who avoid it, especially if they have problems controlling their anger. It will heighten leaders' motivation for war and control, and the military will be a topic that’s intensified.
